Bonjou! Sak passe? Recently, I went on a 5-day retreat to Haiti, to (finally) explore this forgotten gem of a country and to re-center. It has been a destination I wanted to immerse myself in since the earthquake of 2010. I found myself wondering why there was not a lot to say about the country, outside of its destitution and crime. So, naturally, me being the one who does not always just accept what is told to me, wanted to see for myself. I wanted my senses to create their own experiences and for me to allow a valuable lesson be learned: never judge a country by its rumors. Haiti was nothing short of a beautiful place to be. I ate, I laughed, I learned, I explored, I spoke, I embraced a new perception on life and the wondrous pursuit of happiness that either motivates or plagues us, depending on how we Journey. I will be happy to share some of those experiences in the coming blogs. For now, take look at thought-in-time that I had, while near the waters...
