July 7th - Received an email from my Agent, stating that there may be an audition lined up for me, sometime early the following week, pending my availability. My reply: "Ok, great, I'll be here. Thanks..." July 10th - Another email from my Agent, via [Casting], that "they" will likely arrange the audition for the following Monday or Tuesday morning. Again, my reply: "Wonderful, I am available both days. Thanks!" July 11th - Official audition notice for the following day. SCHAWEET! July 12th - Audition in the morning, felt great, and then put it behind me, until further notice. July 15th - Received an email noting that the production dates have changed and that am being pinned, if available for the changes. Of course, I would be! Later that same day, I get another email, via [Casting] that the producers are asking for a video audition: a provided monologue, read three different ways, in three different tones, along with an improv piece. Oh...kay... Due July 18th. July 22nd - Another email from Agent, via [Casting] that the production dates have changed, yet again, but notifying me that I am still pinned, if I would be available. My reply: *excruciating anticipation* Yes, I am still available..." *sighs* July 27th - Yet another email from Agent, this time stating, via [Casting], "Thanks for being patient - we are getting closer to being able to make an offer... The Producers have also asked if Donnell could bulk up a little bit more for the role..." My reply: *grand excitement and disbelief* "I have actually already been working on that, so that will not be a problem at all! This is great!" August 9th - After some sort of "balance" of trusting and stressing - and two auditions for other projects in between - I finally hear back from my Agent, via [Casting], asking if I'd be available to meet with the Director of [The Project] the following day, in the morning. You bet your bottom dollar, I was available, even if I really wasn't... August 10th - Meeting with Director and official offer and booking of [The Project], along with a ton of info and research to do. August 16th - Filming commences August 25th - Filming wraps (save for some small upcoming pickups needed). August 26th - Cast & Crew wrap party August 27th-Present - Decompression, release and reflections. I WILL never again doubt the power of Faith and the process of my Craft. This is what I was born to do and no matter "how long" it takes, I am in it, PROPA! What is meant to be will be. You will do the right thing, at the right time, in the right place, for the right project, in front of the right people. Until then, enjoy the journey and LIVE! #SmithDonnellE #Made4TV #InItPropa #Actor #Passion #Purpose #Determination #Drive #Faith #Persistence #TheCineMart #GratitudeInAbundance #GetToKnowMe
